Have you ever imagined what it would be like to stand up for survivors of abuse and harassment? Tarana Burke, born on September 12, 1973, in The Bronx, New York City, is a social activist and founder of the "Me Too" movement. Growing up in a community where many faced injustice, Burke became passionate about advocating for survivors of sexual violence. In 2006, she coined the phrase "Me Too" to empower survivors to speak out and support one another. Her friends would describe her as courageous and compassionate. Tarana Burke is remembered for igniting a global movement for change and giving a voice to those who have been silenced.
