Have you ever imagined what it would be like to challenge the status quo and pave the way for others? William Henry Lewis, born on November 28, 1868, in Berkley, Virginia, was a trailblazing attorney and politician who shattered racial barriers in the legal profession. Growing up in a time of segregation and discrimination, Lewis overcame numerous obstacles to become one of the first African American graduates of Harvard Law School. He went on to have a successful legal career, advocating for civil rights and equality in the courtroom. His friends would describe him as courageous and determined. William Henry Lewis is remembered for his pioneering efforts in the legal profession and his tireless fight for justice.
