Activist and Victim of Racial Violence

Harriette Moore (June 19, 1902 - December 25, 1951):

Have you ever delved into the stories of individuals who sacrificed their lives in the pursuit of civil rights and racial equality? Harriette Moore, born on June 19, 1902, in St. Augustine, Florida, was a pioneering civil rights activist who tragically lost her life due to her unwavering commitment to the fight against racial injustice.

Harriette Moore's journey involved her work as an educator and her activism alongside her husband, Harry T. Moore. They fought against racial segregation and worked to register African Americans to vote in Florida. Sadly, both Harriette and Harry T. Moore were victims of a racially motivated bombing on Christmas night in 1951.

Harriette Moore is remembered for her educational contributions, her transformative activism in the Civil Rights Movement, and her ultimate sacrifice in the pursuit of racial equality.
