NAACP Activist Killed in Bombing

Harry T. Moore (1905 - 1951):
What if your dedication to education and civil rights put you in the crosshairs of those who opposed progress? Harry T. Moore, born on November 18, 1905, was a courageous educator and civil rights leader who paid the ultimate price for his commitment to equality.
Moore's tireless efforts in fighting for educational opportunities for African Americans and advocating for voting rights made him a target of racial violence. Tragically, he and his wife, Harriette, lost their lives when their home was bombed on Christmas night in 1951. Harry T. Moore's sacrifice became a catalyst for the civil rights movement, inspiring others to continue the fight for justice.
