To create something from nothing is one of the greatest feelings, and I would - I don't know, I wish it upon everybody.

My name is Prince Rogers Nelson, born on June 7, 1958, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Growing up in a musical family, I showed a talent for music at a young age, mastering multiple instruments and developing my unique style. In the late 1970s, I signed a record deal with Warner Bros. and released my debut album, “For You,” in 1978. It was just the beginning of my groundbreaking career that would span over four decades.

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, I rose to superstardom with hit albums like “Purple Rain,” “Sign o’ the Times,” and “Diamonds and Pearls.” Known for my eclectic sound blending rock, funk, R&B, and pop, I became a cultural icon with my flamboyant style and boundary-pushing music. Songs like “Purple Rain,” “When Doves Cry,” and “Kiss” solidified my status as one of the greatest musicians of all time.

Despite my musical success, I faced personal struggles and controversies throughout my life. I changed my name to an unpronounceable symbol in the 1990s as a protest against my record label. Additionally, I battled with Warner Bros. over creative control of my music and famously wrote “slave” on my face to protest against the label’s treatment. My personal life was also marked by turbulent relationships and health issues.

My impact on the music industry is undeniable, as I influenced countless artists with my innovative sound and fearless approach to creativity. I won multiple Grammy Awards, an Academy Award for Best Original Song Score for “Purple Rain,” and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. Even after my untimely death on April 21, 2016, my legacy lives on through my timeless music and lasting influence on popular culture.

Prince Rogers Nelson will always be remembered as a musical genius who pushed boundaries and redefined genres. His electrifying performances, genre-blurring music, and larger-than-life persona continue to inspire artists and fans around the world. From his early beginnings in Minneapolis to his legendary status as an icon, Prince’s impact on music will forever be etched in history.
