Benny Andrews (November 13, 1930 - April 10, 2006)
Do you love looking at pictures that tell stories and make you think? Benny Andrews, born in Plainview, Georgia, was an awesome artist who used his paintings and collages to show the struggles and victories of Black people.
Benny Andrews didn't just make art; he also worked hard to make sure Black artists got recognized. He helped start groups to fight against racism in the art world. We're grateful to Benny Andrews for creating powerful art and making sure everyone's stories get told.
